|Spirit of Vienna coming to SSU
United by the spirit of composers who were either born or worked in Vienna, the Sonoma State University Chamber Winds Ensemble and Symphonic Chorus will present works by Beethoven, Schubert, Hummel, Krenek and Mozart at 2 p.m. on Nov. 24 in Weill Hall.
W.A. Mozart’s “Requiem K. 626” will feature the SSU Symphonic Chorus with soloists and a professional orchestra under the direction of Jenny Bent. Shrouded in mystery, Mozart’s Requiem is a crowning achievement of his all-too-short life, fusing masterful counterpoint with heartbreaking poignancy.
Tickets are $10-$15, parking included. For information, call (707) 664-2324 or visit www.sonoma.edu/music/performances.
