Piranhas have strong outing at SR swimming competition

Rohnert park Piranha swimmers had a strong weekend at their latest meet in Santa Rosa on Oct. 19-20.

In the girls 6-under age group, Taylor Whetstone achieved a Pacific Swimming-recognized B time for her 50-yard freestyle and a new personal best time in the 25 backstroke.

In the girls 9-10 age group, Katie Honey achieved a new best time in the 50 yard butterfly, while Bailey Moeller registered a personal best in the 50 freestyle. Macayla Sedeno reached personal best times in the 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke 50 breaststroke and 50 butterfly. Haley Woodcox recorded a new best time in the 50 butterfly.

In the boys 9-10 events, Miron English scored personal best times in the 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 100 individual medley, and he achieved a Pacific Swimming-recognized A time for his performance in the 100 breaststroke.

In the girls 11-12 age group, Melissa Adams recorded three new Junior Olympic time standard for her 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle. She also achieved personal best times in her 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. Kylie Nelson achieved new best times in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. Katie Schiebold turned in a Pacific Swimming recognized B time for the 100 freestyle and achieved a personal best time in the 100 backstroke. Jaden Wachter achieved a Pacific Swimming recognized B time for the 100 breaststroke and a new best time for her 50 backstroke. Cayla Whetstone achieved a new best time in the 200 individual medley.

In the boys 11-12 events, Derek Honey had personal best times in the 100 and 200 freestyle races.

In the 13-14 boys events, Dominic Restivo achieved a Pacific Swimming recognized A time for his 50 freestyle, a Pacific Swimming recognized B time for the 100 breaststroke and a new best time for the 100 freestyle.

In the boys 15-16 events, Sean Restivo achieved a new best time in his 100 freestyle. The Piranhas host a swim meet at Honeybee Pool on Nov. 9-10.
