Athletic director Henri Sarlatte has selected football player Josh Belda and soccer player Kristine Ricossa as the Rancho Cotate High School athletes of the week.

Belda is a dual-sport athlete who plays on the varsity football and soccer teams. He is interested in attending Ohio State University in the fall. Belda’s favorite subject is English and his favorite word is dingleberry. His least favorite word is um. The sound or noise he loves is a fart noise he makes and the sound or noise he hates is someone who smacks while they are eating.

Josh would like to work in business management and definitely would not want to be a lawyer. His favorite movie is “Remember the Titans” and his favorite television show is any hockey game, especially a Sharks game. His favorite singer is Josh Turner, and he would love to visit Tahiti.

Ricossa, who plays on the varsity girls’ soccer team, has expressed interest in attending Dominican University.

Her favorite subject is science. Her favorite word is dream and least favorite word is failure.

The sound or noise she loves is good music and least favorite sound is nails on a chalkboard. She would like to be an occupational therapist and would not like to be a high school teacher. Her favorite movie is “Safe Haven” and her favorite television show is “Law and Order SVU.”

Her favorite singer is Tim McGraw. The country she would like to visit is Italy.

For being named athlete of the week, Josh and Kristine get a meal at Chipotle, one week at 24 Hour Fitness, two rentals at Blockbuster and a session at Driven, all in Rohnert Park.
