|Songs of Thanksgiving concert slated for Weill Hall Oct. 19
A Songs of Thanksgiving concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Weill Hall at Sonoma State University as a benefit to raise awareness about hunger.
Members of the choral program at SSU along with singers from Maria Carrillo High School are partnering with the Redwood Empire Food Bank for the second year.
Last year’s event raised more than $800 and 2,000 pounds of food for the organization, according to Choral Activities director Jenny Bent.
A food drive organized by choir members is currently under way in the Green Music Center education building. Canned goods can be dropped off outside of GMC Room 1028. For more information, call (707) 664-3925. Tickets for the concert range from $10-$15 and include parking.
