Anyone seeking a furry feline friend or two, now is the moment. Sonoma County Animal Care and Control has cats of all ages, shapes, colors and sizes and is offering a short-term adoption special to help match kittens and cats with loving homes.

From now through Saturday, Oct. 12, all cats over four months old are adoptable at no charge.

During this same period, kittens up to four months old are available for an adoption fee of $50 (the regular fee is $132).

All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated.

“Summer adoptions can’t keep up with summer intake,” says Animal Care and Control Director Brigid Wasson. “By fall, there are many cats and kittens still at the shelter waiting for a home. Sonoma County Animal Care and Control is committed to placing every healthy feline. If you’re considering adding a cat or two to your family please visit our shelter to meet your match.”

Sonoma County Animal Care and Control is located at 1247 Century Court, near the airport, in Santa Rosa. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5:30 p.m. For more information, go to or call (707) 565-7100.
