Fire outside RP burns 159 acres
Bookmark and Share

High, dry winds fanned a vegetation fire that burned 159 acres in Crane Creek Regional Park, just east of Rohnert Park, Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from seven agencies responded to the blaze on Pressley Road just before 1 p.m. There were no structures damaged in the blaze. A Cal Fire spokeswoman said the fire was wind-driven and the dry conditions were ideal for a blaze to spread. As of Friday evening, the blaze was 75 percent contained.

The fire stalled traffic on Petaluma Hill Road between East Cotati Avenue and Rohnert Park Expressway.
