Athletic director Henri Sarlatte selected Guillermo Irizarry and Arith Anaya as the Rancho Cotate High School athletes of the week.

Irizarry, who plays on the boys soccer team, plans on attending San Jose State next fall. His favorite subject is history, and his favorite word is family. His least favorite word is bully. The sound or noise he loves is crickets chirping, and the sound or noise he hates is a loud fire alarm.

Irizarry would like to be a lawyer or engineer and definitely would not want to be a singer. His favorite movie is “Finding Nemo” and his favorite television show is “Law & Order.” His favorite musical performer is rapper Eminem. The country he would like to visit is Spain.

Anaya, who plays on the girls tennis team, plans to attend UC Santa Barbara. Her favorite subject is algebra. Her favorite word is hope and least favorite word is negativity. The sound or noise she loves is the ocean and least favorite sound is a dog barking at nothing. Anaya would like to be a dentist and would not like to be a housekeeper. Her favorite movie is “The Notebook” and her favorite television show is “Monk.” Her favorite singer is Steven Tyler. She would love to visit France.

For being named athlete of the week, Irizarry and Anaya get a meal at Chipotle, one week at 24 Hour Fitness, two rentals at Blockbuster and a session at Driven, all in Rohnert Park.
