|RC teams join breast cancer fight
This fall, thousands of athletic teams from around the country will be participating in Breast Cancer Awareness fundraisers, campaigns and sporting events. And Rancho Cotate High School’s athletic teams will join the effort.
Middle school, high school and college teams will raise awareness and promote breast health education in the community as well as raise funds to further breast cancer research.
Selected high school athletic contests will give spectators and athletes the opportunity to become involved by making donations to the cause and by pinking out the events (i.e. donning pink socks, wrist bands, head bands, jerseys and t-shirts to show their support).
The Rancho Cotate Associated Student Body and Athletic Department will be hosting their Breast Cancer Awareness fundraisers at the following athletic contests: football, Oct. 4 vs. Ukiah; girls soccer, Oct. 9 vs. Cardinal Newman; girls tennis, Oct. 15 vs. Maria Carrillo; volleyball, Oct. 17 vs. Casa Grande; boys soccer, Oct. 22 vs. Montgomery; and cross country, Oct. 30 vs. Casa Grande.
Before, during and after these contests will be bake sales and donation canisters.
All proceeds from these events will go toward breast cancer research.
