Library book sale

Non-fiction, fiction, mysteries and sci-fi, children’s books, sets of books, VHSs, CDs, tapes and books on tape will be available at the book sale slated for Oct. 4-5.

The hours for the book sale are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. From 1:30-3:30 p.m., a bag of books costs $5 and half price on individual books. The book sale takes place in the meeting room at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library.


Adult programs

Master Gardener Jim Lang will host a workshop on Dahlia Care and Culture on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This is a free event in the meeting room. For directions call 584-9121. 

• Our book discussion group meets next on Tuesday, Oct. 15, discussing “Born to Run” by Christopher McDougall. Copies of the book are available at the library information desk. 

Basic library Internet

Learn to use the library catalog and databases on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 10-11 a.m. Sign up in advance, as space is limited to two people. You can sign up in person at the Reference/Information desk or call 584-9121 ext. 0920.


Children’s programs

The final two days for the fall coloring table are today (Sept. 20) and Saturday, Sept. 21.

• The next special Thursday morning event is Magical Moonshine Theatre’s “Puppy Locks and the Three Bears” on Sept. 26 at 11 a.m.

• Weekly storytimes will begin the second week in October.

Special family program

Award winning storyteller and recording artist Jim Weiss will enthrall the audience with stories from far and near. This program is for children and adults.  Don’t miss this special show on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.

Read to a dog

The Read to a Dog reading program takes place each Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and each Saturday from 2-3 p.m. Come sign up that afternoon to read to an appreciative dog.
