On Sept. 20, 6th Street Playhouse brings to life the cult classic, “The Rocky Horror Show,” in the Studio Theatre.

Adapted for the screen in 1975, the original theatrical version was released on June 19, 1973, making this the 40th anniversary of the internationally celebrated phenomenon. “The Rocky Horror Show” musical was written by Richard O’Brien (who played Riff Raff in the film version) as a humorous tribute to science fiction and horror B movies from the 1940’s to the 1970’s.

“The Rocky Horror Show” tells the story of Brad and Janet, a newly engaged couple who seek shelter at a nearby home when their car breaks down in the rain.

Unbeknownst to them, the occupant of the house is a mad scientist getting ready to unveil his latest creation.

Fans who have memorized every line, every lyric and every dance move won’t be disappointed.

Audience members are encouraged to dress up and special Rocky Horror swag bags will be available from concessions containing approved props for the show.

Fans are asked to leave their own props at home as outside materials will not be allowed in the theatre.

“The Rocky Horror Show” runs from Sept. 20-Oct. 13. Tickets are $25-20 and available online or at the box office.  Go to www.6thstreetplayhouse.com for tickets or additional information.
