The Sonoma County Human Services Department Adult & Aging Division’s Senior Art Show will be holding its 16th annual show at the Santa Rosa Finley Center running from Oct. 8 to Dec. 3.

More than 100 Sonoma County senior artists will exhibit their art for almost two months at the Senior Art Show.

The public is invited to celebrate the opening of the exhibit at a reception on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 1-4 p.m. at the Finley Center.  During the reception, artists will be demonstrating their talents at various stations throughout the center.  Coffee and cookies will be served.

The Senior Art Show celebrates artists more than 60, some of whom have been practicing their talents for many years and others who are relatively new to their artistic endeavors.  A variety of mediums will be on display and/or demonstrated including oils, watercolors, charcoal portraits, photography, clay, sculpture, and basket weaving.

The Sonoma County Human Services Department (HSD) and the Area Agency on Aging jointly founded and host this free annual event.  Diane Kaljian, Director of the HSD Adult and Aging Division explains the HSD commitment to this event.

“Adults and Aging Services supports older adults to live independently with quality of life and dignity,” she said.  “The Senior Art Show is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the positive and valued contributions older adults make every day in our community.”
