This point, known to acupuncturists as Triple Burner 5, is located on the back of the wrist, in the middle of the wrist about two inches down from the prominent crease.

It is excellent for cooling heat and reducing pain.  You (or your pregnant partner) may experience bouts of hot flashes and night sweats and feverishness during pregnancy, as the fetus growing and quickening inside the womb generates heat.

Many pregnant women with fever, agitation, or pain of the joints or face can benefit from this point.

Pressing this point increases circulation within the energy pathways and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.

Note: Remember these vignettes are not medical advice.

Step one: Locate the point Triple Burner 5 on the back of the wrist. The correct point will likely feel a little tender when using a firm touch.

Step two: Using your thumb or index finger, press and hold the pressure for 10 seconds. Repeat several times per hour, or until symptoms lessen.
