The Sonoma County Fair is offering pre-sale admission and carnival ticket discounts this year. The fair runs July 25 – August 11 (closed on Mondays).

There will be plenty of free entertainment and attractions with fair admission. Live music will be featured nearly all day every day in four different venues. Some of the acts include local favorites such as Wonderbread 5, Pride and Joy, McKenna Faith, the Terry Hancks Band and many others.

Fair goers also will have the opportunity to handle live butterflies, cheer on their favorite airborne pups during the Extreme Dog Air Show or bet on the horses.

Discounts of up to 20 percent are available for those who purchase tickets by July 24. Single day admission tickets for adults (age 13 and over) are $8 ($10 value) and admission for kids between the ages of 7-12 are $5.

A family pack includes three adult general admissions, two child admissions, and one $6 parking pass, for $35 in advance ($46 value). Those who don’t want to miss a single day of the fair can save up to $120 by purchasing a Season Admission Pass for $40 per person and attend all 16 days of the fair (passes are only available for purchase at the box office, are good for one individual and are non-transferable).

Some of the new additions to the fair include 18 brand new bumper cars from Italy and a pendulum ride called “Dance Party” that free swings in a circular motion and passes near the ground at 35 mph.

Carnival WOW pre-sale coupons are $20 and include 10 ride tickets, two-for-one play at any $2 game, free prize and free popcorn with any purchase at a carnival candy stand. WOW pre-sale coupons must be purchased by July 24, and can be exchanged for an unlimited ride wristband on Pay-One-Price Thursdays and Fridays.

For $10 more, the Wow pre-sale coupon can be exchanged for an unlimited ride wristband on Pay-One-Price Saturdays and Sundays. Fair admission must be purchased separately.

Along with Too Good To Be True Tuesdays, the fair also will have Too Good To Be True Wednesdays. For $20 per person, this mid-week package includes one fair admission and one carnival wristband for unlimited rides (all ages, all day).

Fairgoers may choose to purchase regular gate admission if they do not plan on going to the carnival. Every Thursday, seniors 60 and up will get in to the fair for free, kids between the ages of 7-12 get free admission into the fair each Friday. Kids 6 and younger get in free every day. Also on Fridays, bring two cans (or bags or boxes) of nonperishable food for the Redwood Empire Food Bank and receive $2 off on general fair admission (limit one per person).
