Two of the highlights of the Relay for life are the survivors lap and the Luminaria ceremony. During the Survivors' Lap, all cancer survivors at the event will take the first lap around the track and will be cheered on by other participants who line the track. The Luminaria Ceremony takes place after dark in remembrance of those who have been lost to cancer. It also honors those who have fought cancer in the past and supports those who continue the fight. Candles are lit inside personalized bags and are placed around the track as tributes to those affected by cancer.
