Some significant accomplishments were achieved by the Rohnert Park Piranha Progressive Series swim meet on June 8 at Honeybee Park in RP.

Ian McKenzie, competing in the boys 13-14 group, qualified for a new Far West standard, beating his previous best time by 8.5 seconds in the 200 butterfly swim.

Brigette Eagar (13-14 girls) reached a new Junior Olympic (JO) standard and recorded a new personal best time for her 100 breaststroke swim. Katie Honey (9-10 girls) had a new personal best time in her 50 yard freestyle and touched the wall under the JO standard.

Aric Lang (15-16 boys) pulled off a new personal best time for his 200 butterfly under the JO standard. Many other Piranhas’ swimmers were setting new standards for themselves and improved on their previous best times.

The Piranhas are the only swim team in RP competing in Sonoma County events year-round. They are affiliated with Pacific Swimming and USA Swimming. For more information, call (707) 524-4363.
