|Town Hall meeting in RP slated for May 22
Sonoma County Supervisor Shirlee Zane and Rohnert Park Mayor Pam Stafford will share the stage and microphone on Wednesday, May 22, for a town hall meeting at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Library.
Zane, who represents the Third District, and Stafford will host an open dialogue on issues of interest to Rohnert Park residents and businesses.
Two topics sure to arise are the pending opening of the Graton Tribe casino on Wilfred Avenue (aka Golf Course Drive West) and the expansion of Walmart to superstore status.
The casino has been under construction for months, and the Graton Tribe hopes to have it opened late in the year.
Walmart’s expansion has cleared every hurdle thus far, and its latest obstacle, public review of its EIR, currently is nearing its 45-day extension phase.
Also expect questions about traffic safety in Rohnert Park in the wake of a man being hit and killed on Rohnert Park Expressway last week.
With the city council having approved the reopning of M pool, don’t expect too many questions about that subject during the meeting.
The town hall meeting takes place from 6-7 p.m. The library is located at 6250 Lynne Conde Way in Rohnert Park.
