|MC rallies past Cougars to win NBL showdown
In its showdown with Maria Carrillo High on April 25, Rancho Cotate High’s softball team gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and fell out of a first-place tie with the Pumas as a result of a 4-3 loss.
The Cougars, however, rebounded in a big way by thumping Montgomery 10-0 in a game shortened to six innings because of the 10-run rule. Rancho Cotate now stands at 8-2 in the North Bay League and 12-6 overall.
Rancho Cotate will host Petaluma’s Casa Grande on Tuesday, May 7, at 4 p.m. The Cougars played a game in Santa Rosa against Cardinal Newman on May 2.
