Rancho Cotate’s girls’ softball team gave up seven runs in the final two innings en route to its first North Bay League loss of the season on Tuesday, April 16 on the road against Santa Rosa High.

The Cougars seemingly had total control of the contest when they scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 7-1 lead. But their bats went cold from that point on.

Rancho Cotate’s next home game is Saturday, April 20, in a non-league game against Eureka.

The Cougars played Montgomery and Windsor on April 16 and 17, respectively. Details of those games were unavailable when The Community Voice went to print.

The loss drops the Cougars to 4-1 in the NBL and 7-5 overall.

Keilani Fronda, Amanda Navarro and Kristine Ricossa each scored twice for the Cougars. Ricossa also was 2-for-4 at the plate.
