The Sitting Room to feature scenes from lives of women composers
Bookmark and Share

Mae Lucas, Sonoma County pianist and teacher, will enact scenes from the lives of three women composers, perform one piano piece by each, and share one CD excerpt each of their orchestral, chamber or choral music on March 30 from 2-4 p.m. at the Sitting Room in Penngrove at 2025 Curtis Drive.

The women composers are Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, sister of Felix Mendelssohn, Teresa Carreño, best woman pianist of the late 19th century, and Lili Boulanger, the first woman to win the Prix de Rome in composition.
