Lawrence Jones Middle School volleyball coach Donna McKenna walked up to Rei Rei Peleti before the playoff semifinal match against Altimira on Thursday and said she did not want to collect jerseys today, and "that is an order."

Peleti and the rest of the Lady Jaguars heeded the message and played a solid match in winning in straight sets 25-17 and 25-11.

The Lady Jaguars' collective serving effort proved key as they served at 94 percent, missing only three of 50 total serves.

Also making a big difference in the match was the Lady Jaguars' play at the net, as Peleti led the team with seven kills, while Malia Kuka added six and Kaela Velles and Brittany Scardina each had three.

Besides the kills, Kuka and Velles combined for 14 power hits that drew numerous errors by Altimira.

The Lady Jaguars face Adele Harrison of Sonoma Valley in the championship match today at 3:30 p.m.
