This point, known to acupuncturists as Bladder 61, is located on the outer edge of the foot an inch and a half below the ankle joint, in the tender depression on the calcaneum bone (heel bone). It is excellent for pain of the musculature and tendons in the lower body, and symptoms of mania. Many people experiencing cramping pain of the back and calves can benefit from this point. It has also been used for mental difficulties such as a racing mind or incessant talking. Pressing this point increases circulation within the energy pathways and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.
