The Lawrence Jones Middle School’s seventh-grade boys basketball team improved to 5-2 this season by clinging to a 39-35 victory over Kenilworth on Dec. 19.
“The boys shouldn’t have made the game this close,” LJMS coach Frank Conklin said. “We did just enough to hang on for the win.”
The team was led by Ryan Matteri and Jake Simmons with 12 points apiece, while Jalen Ward added nine.
