Gallbladder 39 can provide relief for pain in neck and below ribs
Bookmark and Share

This point, known to acupuncturists as Gallbladder 39, is located about three inches above the tip of the external malleolus, on the borderline of the fibula bone. It is excellent for soothing pain and regulating the digestion. Many people with pain of the neck or below the ribs can benefit from this point. It also has been used for abdominal distention (bloating) and painful digestion. Interestingly, this point has also been used to help a rare condition called beriberi (inflammation of nerves and heart failure, caused by a deficiency of vitamin B1) by increasing vitamin absorption. Pressing this point increases circulation within the energy pathways and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.
