Sonoma County library creates digital petting zoo

Did you receive a new iPad, Nook, Kindle, Smartphone or other eReader over the holidays? Or Thinking about buying one?  Interested in seeing how they all work?

Or do you want to just satisfy your curiosity about all the new gadgets?

Come to the Sonoma County Library Hands-on Digital Petting Zoo.

Try out the devices or bring your own.

The following branches will each host Sonoma County Library’s Digital Petting Zoo:

• Central Santa Rosa, Saturday, Jan. 5, 1-3 p.m. and Jan. 26, 1-3 p.m., 211 E St., Santa Rosa.

• Northwest Santa Rosa Library, Feb. 2, 1-3 p.m., 150 Coddingtown Center Santa Rosa.

• Rincon Valley Library, Feb. 9, 1-3 p.m., 6959 Montecito Blvd., Santa Rosa.

This is a drop-in program where attendees can try out some of the most popular eReaders and Audiobook devices, including iPads, Nooks, Kindles – all of which are compatible with the library's downloadable ebook and audiobook services.  Sonoma County Library staff will be on hand to answer questions about the various devices. No registration is necessary for these programs, which are free and open to the public and made possible by the Friends of the Santa Rosa Libraries. Just bring your valid Sonoma County Library card.
