Senator Mark Leno honored Cotati’s Arturo Ibleto “The Pasta King” as Senate District 3’s small business of the year. The Pasta King is an Italian foods retail market and catering business.

“The Pasta King is a Sonoma County institution that has been serving up fresh, homemade Italian food at weddings, corporate events and fundraisers for 30 years while generously donating hearty and delicious meals to those in need,” Leno said.

Ibleto, an immigrant from Northern Italy and former freedom fighter against Mussolini’s troops and the Nazi forces during World War II, founded his retail and catering business in Sonoma County in the early 1960s. For decades, he has wowed diners and community members with his Italian cooking and generosity organizations.

"I am a small business owner and have been in business at the same location since 1961,” Ibleto said. “I run a catering service and do many fundraisers for our local schools, sporting organizations, youth groups, community events and for people that have been affected by illness or tragedy. I feel very honored to be selected to receive this award."
