SCAS offering waive-free adoptions

On Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, more than 200 dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and chickens will be available for fee-waived adoption at the Sonoma County Animal Shelter (SCAS). A dog license fee may be applicable.
SCAS has a wide variety of pets, including Siamese cats, poodle mixes and lop-eared bunnies. In an effort to find forever homes for these pets, the shelter will waive adoption fees for two days. The normal adoption matchmaking process will remain in place to ensure a compatible match between the animal and adopter.

The pet will have already been examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, viral tested (cats) and micro-chipped.

The pet owner will also receive a free slip leash or cardboard carry box.  Sonoma County Animal Care and Control is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5:30 p.m. Adoptions can be processed until 4:30 p.m. daily.
