Rohnert Park families can get a jump on Halloween festivities by bringing the kids to Nick Schafer’s “Trunk or Treat” show Saturday Oct. 27, from 5-8 p.m. in Sonoma Square. It’s a free show for everyone, participants and families.

Schafer’s the owner of ATA Martial Arts in the shopping center at 1460 East Cotati Avenue, and he’s been doing Halloween parties for his students for several years, but this time he’s hosting it for “the whole community” in the center’s parking lot. Sonoma Square’s location is at Cristobal Lane near Sonoma Grove mobile home park and the south end of Snyder Lane.

The gimmick here with trunks instead of tricks, is prizes will be offered for the best-decorated car, truck or SUV rear ends. “We’ve also invited Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department to talk about Halloween Night safety tips for kids and parent, Canine Companions, Learning to Learn pre-school, Powerfit Personal Training, Black Light Ninjas and others to set up information booths. We’ll also have a kids costume contest and carnival rides.

“Merchants at the center participating will be Domino’s Pizza, Rhythms Elite Academy of Dance with ‘monster dances,’ and Just Teasing hair salon, they’ll be offering free haircuts, even Mohawks, and washable tattoos,” Schafer added.
For more details, call Schafer at 793-9401, from 2 to 6 p.m.
