Rancho Cotate’s boys’ soccer team and Cardinal Newman played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday in Santa Rosa.

The Cougars’ Roy Boateng put the Cougars up, 1-0, with a goal in the first half. Rancho Cotate was unable to maintain the lead when the Cardinals’ Eric Owensen got the equalizer in the second half.

Rancho Cotate is now 6-0-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in the North Bay League. The Cougars’ next game is Sept. 25 at home against the Maria Carrillo Pumas of Santa Rosa.
