This point, known to acupuncturists as Liver 3, is located on the top of the foot just below the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones. It is excellent for relieving headaches, insomnia, and anxiety/depression. In Chinese Medicine theory, stagnation within the Liver Meridian causes depression symptoms. Pressing this point increases circulation within the energy pathways and can also be used preventively upon awakening each morning to avoid developing the symptoms.
