| Big match looms for Rancho girls |
Rancho Cotate High’s girls’ soccer team will find out where it stacks up in the North Bay League on Wednesday, Sept. 12, when they open the NBL season against perennial power Montgomery High of Santa Rosa.
The Vikings through six games not only are undefeated, they have yet to concede a single goal and have scored an average of more than four goals per game. Montgomery has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 27-0 this season.
Rancho Cotate currently is 5-1, with its only loss coming in the season opener at Petaluma. The Cougars today (Sept. 7) host to Santa Rosa’s Cardinal Newman. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. at Cougar Stadium.
Rancho Cotate gets one more warm-up game before facing Montgomery when it plays Petaluma’s St. Vincent at home on Sept. 10. That game also starts at 6 p.m.
