Following a 2-1 loss in the season opener to Petaluma, Rancho Cotate High Schools’ girls’ soccer team has been on a bit of a tear.

The Cougars have won four straight games and have gotten contributions on many fronts.

Rancho Cotate 3, Arcata 1
Julia Lambert blasted three goals past Arcata’s goalie for the season’s first hat trick. Two of her goals came on assists from Mariah Meuse, and the other came from Kendra Kane in the Piner Tournament in Santa Rosa.

Rancho Cotate 6, Eureka 0
Six different players scored goals for the Cougars, while goalie Elissa Jordan stopped everything that came her way en route to her first shutout of the season in the Piner Tournament.
Kellie Holmberg, Kristine Ricosa, Kathryn Kane, Kendra Kane, Merrissa Hayes and Alissa Hickling all had goals for Rancho Cotate. Meuse dished out two assists, while Tea Lopes and Lizzy Duport each had one apiece.

Rancho Cotate 3, Fortuna 2
Both Kendra and Kathryn Kane scored for the Cougars, and Kayleen Belda had the decider as the Cougars earned their third consecutive victory both overall and in the Piner Tournament.

Rancho Cotate 3, Healdsburg 1
Kathryn Kane, Meuse and Lopes all scored as the Cougars won a non-league game over the Greyhounds.
Rancho Cotate’s next game is Sept. 7 at home against Cardinal Newman of Santa Rosa.
