Local public television station KRCB will feature soul music legend Lester Chambers on Aug. 25-26. Chambers, lead singer of the ’60s rock group, The Chambers Brothers, recorded this session in the KRCB studio. Along with his son, Dylan, and the Mud Stompers, Chambers infused the studio with some captivating tracks.

The Chambers Brothers’ hit single, “Time Has Come Today,” spent five weeks at No. 11 on the Billboard Charts in 1968.  As a solo artist, Lester has played with ex-Electric Flag bassist Harvey Brooks for the Lester Chambers Harvey Brooks band and sang vocals on Bonnie Raitt’s Sweet Forgiveness album.

Chambers recently was inducted into the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame, and a participant in the locally produced music series. The Aug. 25 airing is at 10 p.m., and the repeat show on Aug. 26 airs at 10:30 p.m.

KRCB Live! is a monthly series of performances recorded in KRCB’s radio and television studios
