Sonoma County Jail Industries Nursery will host a fall plant sale on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m.-noon at the North County Detention Facility.

Jail Industries will dedicate a greenhouse to selling the Master Gardeners “Sonoma Superstars,” deemed the best drought-tolerant performers for Sonoma County. A second greenhouse will be dedicated to California natives and succulents.

Those who attend should bring their own wheelbarrows or wagons to transport plants. The revenues from the plant sales fund the nursery vocational program. All plants are grown and nurtured by inmates. No pesticides or fertilizers are used. The detention facility is located at 2254 Ordinance Road at Airport Boulevard in Santa Rosa.
