| Grocery Outlet continues hunger fight |
Rohnert Park Grocery Outlet’s second annual Independence from Hunger Food Drive raised $4,348 in cash, gift cards and food donations during the month of July.
The food drive was inspired by the fact hunger is a reality for one in seven Americans.
The proceeds from this food drive go to Neighbors Organized Against Hunger (NOAH), which will distribute food and gift cards to those in need in the Rohnert Park/Cotati area.
NOAH actually received $1,621 in gift cards and $2,727 in food donations.
July is usually a time when food banks experience the greatest need, and Rohnert Park Grocery Outlet continues to encourage its customers and employees to make donations to support families in their communities.
“We are proud to support our local food assistance agencies with these donations to help people who don’t always know where they will find their next meal,” said Cheri Weir, owner of Rohnert Park Grocery Outlet. “We could not have accomplished this without the generous support of our loyal customers and staff. As local residents and as a business owner, we are committed to helping everyone in our community achieve independence from hunger.”
