Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety evacuated a neighborhood in Rohnert Park on Tuesday night as a bomb squad removed what were thought to be explosives from a parked truck.
Residents of 20 homes on Mary Place near Bodway were forced to leave homes as the University of California Berkeley bomb squad was called in. The residences were allowed to return to their homes two hours later after suspicious materials of the truck were removed. The truck, an older model Chevrolet flatbed, had been parked on the street for nearly a month, according to those who lived nearby.
RPDPS said there was not a bomb or similar device in the truck, but the truck contained a dangerous element.
