| Man involved in RP shooting sentenced to seven years |
A man involved in the shooting of a Rohnert Park resident was sentenced to an aggregate prison term of seven years for possession of a firearm, Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced on Thursday.
Berry Lamiris Adams, 33, of Sacramento, saw his base term of three years doubled because of a prior strike (residential burglary), and an additional year was added because Adams recently had been released from a separate prison commitment.
""We are pleased that the court imposed a significant prison term for this case in spite of the evidentiary challenges that were presented," Ravitch said.
Adams was involved in the shooting death of Kevin Craft at the Best Western Inn in Rohnert Park on April 22, 2011. Evidence gathered by the Rohnert Park Public Safety Department indicated Craft was attempting to rob a known prostitute at gun point when Adams shot and killed Craft. After the shooting, Adams fled the scene with the prostitute. Approximately six months later, Adams was arrested on a $500,000 warrant in Las Vegas, Nev.
