Cotati’s City Council unanimously voted to authorize City Manager Dianne Thompson to award and execute a construction agreement and necessary change orders for the construction of a Sonoma-Marin Area Rapid Transit depot.

The stumbling block, and it’s a major one, is Gov. Jerry Brown, with the backing of the State Supreme Court, has eliminated redevelopment agencies in the state. The RDA was to provide the bulk of funding for this project.

Thompson said although the bid is going out, there will be no money exchanged until/if the city can find matching funding.
The Cotati Intermodal Facility consists of a 1,500 square-foot building with a plaza along East Cotati Ave.
