| Cotati’s La Carte Visitor Center opens restaurant |
A full-service restaurant is now part of Cotati’s La Carte Visitor Center and Cafe, but the eatery is anything but conventional.
Rather than offer its own menu, each month, La Carte will feature samplings from restaurants throughout Sonoma County.
That means from month to month, patrons might be treated to the best Mexican, Italian, Chinese or Thai food available.
“We’re excited about having a wide variety of restaurants come in with some of the best of their menus,” La Carte CEO Eduardo Diaz said Saturday during a celebration of the restaurant’s opening. “We’ll be able to offer wine pairings with whatever menu will be presented for that month.”
The center, which has been open since December of 2010, also offers music every Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-9 p.m. Jazz and blues are the preferred genre of music at the center. Diaz also said the center is open for groups to host events, and nonprofits will not be charged to host their events there. La Carte, Diaz said, is membership driven. La Carte features an outdoor area suitable for parties, wine tasting events and dances. Inside, besides the traditional dining area, there is enough room for good-sized banquets or award ceremonies.
La Carte is located 8567 Gravenstein Hwy. in Cotati.
