A couple trying to help a man being harassed by a group of people in Rohnert Park wound up becoming victims themselves on Sunday night.

The incident resulted in six suspects being booked into Sonoma County Jail. Those arrested were: Jordan Pool, 23, from Ukiah; Whitney Millstone, 25, from Santa Rosa; Alyssa Casarotti, 23, from Petaluma; Bryan Butler, 23, from Santa Rosa; Jared Cavanaugh, 25, from Novato; Justin Casarotti, 27, of Petaluma.

According to a report by the Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety (RPDPS), officers responded to several 911 calls concerning a fight involving five to seven people in the driveway area of 6340 Commerce Blvd.

Officers determined six people were riding in a white BMW when they exited the vehicle and approached an unknown elderly man. Witnesses told officers a confrontation began between the elderly man and the group of people when a man and woman in their 20s exited their vehicle and told the six to leave the elderly man alone.

At that time, the group turned its attention to the good Samaritans and began attacking the younger male, punching and kicking him to the ground. When the female and other witnesses screamed for the group to stop its attack, two female suspects began attacking her. As more people came to the aid of the victims, the group got into their BMW and fled the scene with property that belonged to the victims.

The suspects traveled southbound on Commerce Boulevard where a patrol unit was waiting. A traffic stop was initiated and all six individuals were arrested without incident and booked into jail.

The victims, whose names were not revealed, refused medical treatment at the scene and drove themselves to a hospital. The male victim suffered moderate injuries to his face and midsection, while the female sustained minor injuries.

This case remains under investigation, and the RPDPS asks anyone with further information to call 584-2600.
