Associated Students Productions (ASP) at Sonoma State University will be staging “The Vagina Monologues” on campus March 18, 19 and 20 in the Cooperage. All three performances are free. Cast members are all SSU woman students, directed by Sara Kaufman, SSU grad and former cast member.

A groundbreaking show ever since it opened, written by Eve Ensler, it has reached timeless status over the years.

This is the fourth annual production of it at SSU. Performance times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. that weekend.
“The play uses the vagina as a theme that represents female empowerment in society,” said Kaufman. “It inspires women to embody their individuality and be proud of who they are and what they were born with.”

ASP will present this free event as part of Women’s History Month, SSU’s Women and Gender Studies, QSA and the V-Day campaign. For further information, call ASP at 664-2382 or Sara Jane Pohlman at 663-8586.
