Search still on for A&L Market robbery suspect

  • A&L Market was the scene of an armed robbery July 4. No one was injured in the incident, however, $700 was stolen out of the cash register. The suspect has yet to be apprehended. Jane Peleti

The suspect is described as being a light skinned black or Hispanic male in his 20’s and was wearing red gloves and a gray hooded sweatshirt. 



SSU names new police chief

David Dougherty has been appointed as the new Chief of Police for the university.

RP fireworks to be added to agenda

Due to the large number of calls and safety concerns related to fireworks, council members decided to agendize the topic for a future meeting so they can discuss the future of fireworks in Rohnert Park.

RP 9U Blue sweeps it all in NorCal tournament

Marshall Lemons of the Rohnert Park Cal Ripken 9U Blue All Star team runs with determination to first base during their game against the Windsor team on Saturday.  The teams played against each other for the championship title and Rohnert Park defeated Windsor 9-2.  The Rohnert Park team went undefeated in the State Tournament that was held at Benicia Park from June 30 thru July 7.  The boys now move on to the Pacific Southwest Regional Championship games to be held in Bakersfield the week of July 15 thru the 22nd.  The team has begun to fundraise for their trip and a fundraising page has been set up, https://fundly.com/9u-blue-all-stars-regional-championship-fun, to help the boys out. RP nonprofit changes up the model for giving back to those in need

“What is unique about Global Partners for Development is that the ideas we try to get up are not our own. The ideas come from local people who understand their needs… and it has been pretty successful so far,” says Amy Holter, director of programs and evaluation.
